Eagles Trading McNabb Would Be a Big Mistake

If the the Eagles trade Donovan McNabb it would be the biggest mistake in franchise history and bigger then the Eagles not signing Reggie White. Donovan is still in the prime of his career and has a record of 92-49-1. Putting an unproven QB like Kevin Kolb would be even more of a mistake. This year in a substitute role Kevin went 1-1 and the only win was against the lonely Chiefs and he struggled against a great team in the Saints. If you put him full time even with the full snaps with the first string offense the Eagles will suffer greatly. With Donovan Mcnabb as QB the Eagles have gone to the playoffs every year except for two 1999 when he was a rookie and 2005. They have won 5 NFC East titles and went to 5 NFC Title games and 1 Super Bowl which they lost by 3 to the Patriots. If you want to be one of those naysayers that like to bag on Donovan then blame every on him but I won't because if you trade McNabb you would go back to being mediocrity at best and possibly of being the next Chicago Bears that can't find a QB. Trading McNabb would set the franchise back some years. Think about this in the 10 years before Mcnabb came the Eagles went to no NFC Title games and won no NFC East Championships. There are no guarantees that Kolb will ever be as good as McNabb and could be like a Ty Detmer, Bobby Hoying, Koy Detmer. I for one don't want to go back to that again.
