32 NFL Team Previews in 32 Days Day 9 Oakland Raiders

Day 9 is the Oakland Raiders

Last years record: 5-11 3rd in AFC West
First Round Pick: Rolando McClain ILB (RD1P8)
Best Pick:Rolando McClain ILB
Offensive MVP:Zach Miller TE
Defensive MVP: Richard Seymour DL
X-Factor: Jason Campbell QB
Projected Record: 8-8

Big Question: Can Jason Campbell be the QB the Raiders were looking for?

Big Answer: Yes, I think Jason Campbell is QB the Raiders were looking for and he will make this team a lot better. Last year with the Redskins he passed for 3,618 yds and 20 touchdowns. Last season the Raiders QB combo had 2,875 yds and 10 tds. He is an immediate upgrade over JaMarcus Russell, Bruce Gradkowski and Charlie Frye. The good news JaMarcus Russell is gone he has been a bust since being drafted number one overall in 2007. Campbell also has some weapons in tight end Zach Miller, wide receiver Louis Murphy and if they can get anything out of 2009 first round pick Heyward-Bey it will be great. The defense is clearly the Raiders strong point with good players such as Richard Seymour,Thomas Howard,Kirk Morrison, and Nnamdi Asomugha. Add linebacker Rolando McClain to that mix and it could be even better. I say the Raiders could be anywhere from 6-10 to 10-6 but I am going with 8-8.

Day 10 is the Denver Broncos
